no sun

Well
Where’d the sun go?
Shading over holidays
I crave the rays
Get soaked and swallowed away
For forty days,
That I’ve been searching for the sun
I’m turning over every sofa cushion
But I’m only finding crumbs,
But my search ain’t done
We need the sun to thrive
And stay alive, not hide
So our crops don’t die
And for the kids to stop crying
And what the fuck are we gonna do
With the influx of sun dials

People are walking around like zombies
Begging for a piece of light
To be shed on the earth
Just like Ghandi
Confusing am and pm
Worse than blondes be,
With no sun
We’d be cooler than Fonz be
Ehhhhhhhhh!!!

The days are colder
Seem shorter
And pass
With more boredom
There’s no more stickball in the streets
It switched to Texas hold’em
You got to listen
To what I told them
I forewarned them,
Take advantage
Of the hand you’re dealt
And don’t fold them
Before, it’s long gone and stolen
Cause, none of us
Want to know what its like
Living with no sun

Sunrise and sunsets forget it
It’ll all be covered over by clouds
So don’t sweat it
In fact, you’ll have to run a track
Just to sweat it
And you can credit it
To being indebted to a benefit
We got all the money in the world
And were buying up bombs
Strapping them to soldiers
And sending them out
With nuclear arms
To go and blow up Sadam
This puppet strings us along
But for how long is the question
Let’s torch this puppet
Before it puts a hex on us
And steals the sun
From the rest of us

Either way we’re killing ourselves
And if we don’t stand up
We’ll soon be living in hell
Where the sun don’t shine
And fears instilled in our minds
Implanted with microchips
Just to keep us in line
Keep us in line,
Right now
Children filling sweatshops
Working for a dime
And everyday we allow this
We are committing a crime
You’d think someone in power
Would work to end this
But no one
This is why we’re living a life-
With no sun
