gentle tap

She woke me with a gentle tap on my shoulder and my eyes alertly opened as if I knew this hour was coming. The sun beamed on my glowing beauty. Her flowering diamond ring sang a song to which my ears were left sullen. My body left sullen. Eyes sullen. Chest sullen. Heart sullen. This moment seemed like a dream had it not been for the immense color and tingling sensation I had hidden behind my eyes. Her bags were packed. She only came for her bags, but we made love all throughout my paisley sheets that now hung over the cliff of my mattress. My sheets still damp from love- now shelter a dampness of tears. My tears trickle past the crease in my eyes- slowly like a creek almost barren.
