chinese republic

Caged and beaten
Arranged and bleeding
Deranged, seething
Maimed left eking
Wasted pieces of creatures
With skin peeled eyes piercing
Screams screeching
Misfigured features
Eaten
Eaten
Eaten

narinaru republic

The green ripples marching downstream splash the tips of dry sprouts that lay bank. Four wings flutter through the sun’s white mystique in pursuit of a motorboat waltzing the waves; waves that now come crashing to the edge- rolling over one another- clawing at an escape like fire at a packed concert. Swarms of hungry mosquitoes risk their lives kissing the same banks with watery mouths and a taste for flesh. Even after swatting they return giddily like retard.
Miniscule legs of a baby crab scurried in search of safety; quickly sidestepping to its den with bulging eyes capturing all the giants to which pose a threat. Italian carriages and fluorescent tandem bikes heed the same dusty paths that led me to its beauty- as if to mimic my discourteousness towards the crabs harmony. The look-out draws life to lands vanishing point and I am caught in a barrage of poses and peace signs. With each new group, draws new energy; and [laughs, smiles, thoughts] - onlookers grin and giggle, while fearless children wish me a foreign tongued hello.
A prancing chipmunk jeers a group of ladies excited about a taste of wildlife and halts their discussion.
A man approaches with outstretched arms offering me a cookie and an enjoyable stay- the love that exudes from these docile creatures exists, but it takes a special moment to bring it to fruition; that or soju.
With the last cookie finished I brush the crumbs off my notebook, scattering morsels to the life that occupies this breathtaking corner of the earth.

the busy road

The road that lies ahead of me has yet to see a minute of calmness. And ever since I can remember there hasn’t been a barren second where the road could sit back relax and absorb all its good effort. No time to think about the millions of feet that quickly hustle across to and from work. No time to think about the millions of casual steps families have enjoyed on late night strolls that twine between the tall office buildings. No time to think about the endless rotation of vehicles tattered in traffic cursing you- without appreciation.
Endless forever enduring road- I would love to replace the weight with you for one minute- so you too can observe your underlying beauty.

medical check

The ward swarms with life
And absence from it,
Rooms barricaded from sight,
Children unknown to the horrors
Of their first needle,
Fluids fill cups
As residue spews from the translucent cylinder,
Suited ajamas mop the traditional linoleum floor,
The infinite stack of paper
To sign life away,
“Sit”, Perps the nurse
“No”, I choose not to take this lightly
Numbers drawn and pass,
67!! Calling 67!!
Ironically,
The line seems to grow with each number that has fallen

pleasant peasant observations

Billboards deface buildings
Like litter does green pastures
Proceeding a festival,
Gnarled staircases climb and descend
Like twining ivy,
The regimented stop and go of shift-work,
A silent acknowledgement

my new walls

My new walls
Freshly painted within my
Recycled room
Same paintings, statues, books
Candles, carvings, and tea
The fan situated on my desk
Blows the sticky air
That guards a constant single drop that hangs above my brow
